Great Lake of the South 

locator.gif (18478 bytes)Lake Hartwell is located on Interstate 85 at the border of  Georgia and South Carolina. Driving times are approximately:
Atlanta, GA - 2 hours Athens, GA - 1 hour
Smoky Mountains - 2 hr Greenville, SC - 1 hour

Lake Hartwell is well marked with navigation buoys and shoreline mileage markers. Lake maps detailing the locations of these markers as well as public access areas, water hazards, fish attractors, etc. are available at local stores. The following map is available free from the Corps and online at  http://www.sas.usace.army.mil/lakes/hartwell/hartmap.htm
